Ashoka GVR Mudhol Nipani Roads Limited (“AGMNRL”) has received a Provisional Completion Certificate for completion of 89.844 KMs of the Project Highway (83% of the total Length). The Provisional Completion Certificate is issued with effect from December 11, 2016 by the Karnataka State Highways Improvement Project Authority(KSHIP), which is also a Commercial Operation Date (COD) as per the provisions of the Concession Agreement.

We are on a mission to make our highways totally accident free, by working hand in hand with government authorities and general public.” He added that in the last three years ‘THE ASHOKA ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN,’ which is conducted annually, in the month of January, has reached out to millions of people with an appeal to respect traffic rules.

Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. earns appreciation from Bihar Govt. for early completion of challenging electrification project in Munger District, Bihar. Felicitation at the Hands of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Munger becomes the first, fully electrified district in the state of Bihar. Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. one of the largest highway developers in the country, though its’ Power Division, has successfully achieved early completion of electrifying the villages of Munger district. This project has once again underscored the EPC strength of the company. Mr. Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar felicitated the Company in a formal function held at the Secretariat, Samwad Bhavan, Patna. The electrification project is part “Deen Dayal Upadhyay Rural Electrification Scheme”, where Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. was given the contract of electrifying the villages of Munger district by the Bihar State Power (Holding) Co. Ltd. The deadline for completion i.e 20 August 2016 was extremely challenging, yet the company was able to complete the task well before deadline. Out of the 27 districts, where projects are being executed by various contractors under this scheme, the Munger project in South Bihar is the first to be completed, that too ahead of schedule. The scheme is very important for several such villages in Bihar that have never been electrified even after so many years of independence. With the completion of this Project Munger district has been declared the first, fully electrified district in the state of Bihar.

  • Ashoka Buildcon Ltd informs that Hon’ble District Court, Pune, has upheld the Arbitral Award in favour of the Company in respect of the Project viz. “Widening to Four Lanes and Strengthening of existing two lanes carriageway improvement of Westerly Diversion to Pune City from (km 0.000 to km 34.423) on NH-4 in the State of Maharashtra.” The said Project was executed by the Company in the year 2000. Thereafter company had preferred a claim against NHAI, the Employer, arising out of execution of work. The Hon’ble Tribunal awarded claims of Rs. 31.88 Crores including interest of Rs. 11.11 Crores till the date of Award i.e. upto May 15, 2008. The NHAI had preferred application u/s. 34 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 before the District Court at Pune (No. 903/08) for setting aside the award. The application of NHAI against the award has been dismissed by the Hon’ble Court on September 28, 2012. The Hon’ble Court has also dismissed the cross application of the company in respect of rejected balance amount claimed. Thus the award in favour of company has been upheld by the District Court Pune and the decision of the District Court is subject to further appeal by NHAI in the High Court. The amount accumulated till the date of upholding of Award by Hon’ble District Court, Pune is i.e. September 28, 2012 is approx. Rs. 48.00 Crores including interest.
