He joined the Ashoka Buildcon Limited as a Junior Engineer in 1982. His leadership qualities and excellence in human resources has helped the company develop project teams which have executed extraordinary projects. Mr. Parakh's belief in employee empowerment has guided deserving candidates within the company to grow from junior levels to prime positions in the organization. He has led the organization into becoming a National Level player bagging prestigious projects for NHAI and State governments. Is one of the first construction Companies in India to achieve the ISO 9001 certification in 1992 and THE FIRST construction company in India to be awarded the IMS certification for all its operations, by the ISC Pty. He began his career as an investment banker with ICICI Securities (ICICI’s investment banking JV with J P Morgan) handling private equity placement, debt syndication and M&A related deals in the energy and telecom sectors. Subsequently, he moved to the Infrastructure group of ICICI and after that to IDFC, to undertake project finance activities in the telecom sector. At IDFC, he was part of the core team that developed IDFC’s investment risk evaluation and management framework. He joined IDFC Private Equity in its formative days.
